This 2021 Mazda MX5 received a Full Coverage Colour PPF change, not only transforming the appearance but also protecting the entire vehicle.
The Mazda MX-5 is already a distinctive sports car, but this 2021 model was brought into the workshop for a complete exterior transformation.
With over 120 colours to choose from, OEM Black to GYEON Satin Black Magic Puple was the perfect choice for this client to completely transform their vehicle!
Alongside the full colour change, the vehicle also received GYEON Q² Infinite Ceramic Coating, Q² View EVO Glass Coating, Spoiler Fitting and Magna Plates Supplied and Fitted to complete the exterior.
What is Colour PPF?
Colour PPF is a self-healing polyurethane film designed to protect a vehicle’s original paintwork while also changing its appearance. It helps defend against stone chips, light scratches, road debris and UV exposure, while offering a wide range of colours and finishes.
Unlike traditional vinyl wrap, Colour PPF combines the protective properties of Paint Protection Film with the styling benefits of a colour change. It is also designed with a low-texture finish, helping it closely replicate the smooth appearance of quality automotive paint.

Before any PPF installation could begin, the Mazda MX-5 was thoroughly prepared to ensure the paintwork was clean and ready for the film.
The vehicle received a detailed decontamination wash to remove dirt, road grime and bonded contaminants from the exterior. Particular attention was given to the areas around the panel edges, shuts and other areas where contamination could affect the PPF installation.
Proper preparation is an important part of any full vehicle PPF installation. The cleaner and smoother the surface, the better the film can be installed and finished around the individual panels.

All necessary parts for a perfect install were first carefully disassembled such as front and rear lights, door handles, trims and badges. This level of disassembly allows us to access edges, recesses and hidden areas that would otherwise be impossible to reach with panels left in place.
By doing this, we're able to wrap deeper into panel edges and eliminate visible seams, ensuring a cleaner, more seamless finish across the entire vehicle. It also maximizes coverage of the original paintwork, providing superior protection and a true full body transformation.
All parts are then carefully refitted to manufacturer standards once installation is complete, ensuring everything aligns perfectly with no damage or misalignment.
Once the Colour PPF had been fully installed, the exterior was finished with GYEON Q² Infinite ceramic coating to add an additional layer of protection over the newly applied PPF. The coating helps protect against environmental contamination while improving water repellency and making the vehicle easier to maintain.
To complement the paintwork protection, GYEON Q² View EVO was applied to the exterior glass, providing a hydrophobic surface that helps water and rain clear from the glass more easily. Together, the coatings provide additional protection across the PPF and glass while helping to keep the MX-5 cleaner and easier to maintain.
The exterior was finished off with a new rear spoiler to give the MX-5 a sharper look and complement its new satin finish. Magna plates were also supplied and fitted, providing a clean, modern alternative to traditional number plate mounting and completing the final exterior details.
