Day in the Detailing Bay with Troy & his Volkswagen Polo GTI.
We invited Troy down to Just Car Care for a Day in the Detailing Bay after he won a competition for a ceramic coating for him to apply. After speaking with Troy and realising he wasn't sure on how to use the product so we invented him down to show him the ropes on the detailing process.
We started off the Day in the Bay by preparing the Polo GTI. We carried out the full decontamination process including Iron Removal, Tar Spot Removal and the clay bar process. This was to ensure the paintwork was as clean as humanly possible before we started polishing and correcting the surface of the car.
After the prep process we moved onto the cutting and machine polishing process. We showed Troy the basic principles of removing defect, polishing to improve gloss and jewelling the paintwork which he got to grips with incredibly fast.
Finally, we moved onto the ceramic coating. We applied the following coatings to the Polo GTI with the help of Troy;
- Wheels & Callipers: Gyeon Q2 Can Coat PRO
- Glass: Gyeon Q2 View
- Paintwork: Graphenic 5 Year Ceramic Coating (Competition Prize)
- Trim: Gyeon Q2 Trim
After it was all said and done Troys Polo GTI looked incredible. We completely transformed the paintwork by removing scratches, swirl marks and marring whilst improving the gloss, clarity and finish of the paintwork.
