How To Apply a Ceramic Glass Coating?
The process of applying a glass coating is very similar to do it for your car's paintwork and wheels. In simple terms. the process follows four key steps; preparation, application, removal and aftercare. Below, we'll break down each stage and explain why it matters.
Prep Work - Before applying the product, it's essential to prepare the surface your working with. If you notice any significant damage - particularly on the front windscreen - it's best to address or replace beforehand. Existing cracks will not be stopped by a ceramic coating.
Once the inspection is complete, thoroughly wash the glass surfaces, use a clay bar to remove bonded contaminants, then wipe the surface down using isopropyl alcohol and a clean microfibre to ensure the coating bonds correctly.
Coating Application - After the glass has been prepared, you can move onto applying the ceramic coating. Always make sure to do this out of direct sunlight and in a shaded area, as exposure to sun can interfere with the curing process and negatively impact the coating's long-term durability.
Curing & Aftercare - Once the coating has been applied to all glass surfaces, it's recommended to avoid contact with moisture for at least 48 hours.
