We used Windscreen Protection Film on this G80 BMW M3 to protect it from stone chips and an expensive window replacement.
This BMW M3 Owner recently had to replace the full windscreen due to a nasty chip in direct view of the driver, costing in excess of £1700.00 including the replacement screen, fitting and calibration. To prevent a similar expense in the future we protected the new screen using STEK DYNOtop Windscreen Protection Film (WPF).
We began with a decontamination wash of the entire vehicle before using a clay bar to remove any embedded contaminates from the surface of the glass. We followed this up with a glass polish as well as an oil and grease remover to ensure the best possible working surface and proper adhesion.
The Windscreen Protection Film is then cut to size and positioned over the windscreen, before using a variety of slip and tack solutions to apply the film. All of the moisture is worked out from underneath the film before the edges are trimmed for a perfect fitment.
By taking the film right up to the edge of the glass, we are able to hide almost every edge for a near invisible install. From the vehicle interior, the film is entirely unnoticeable once allowed to settle for a few days resulting in 100% vision and a windscreen that is protected from incoming stone chips whilst out on the road, ultimately preventing huge expenses in replacing the windscreen.
Beyond the front painted body panels, the vehicle windscreen is the next most vulnerable part of the vehicle when it comes to stone chips, so why not protect it and prevent an expensive replacement?
