Every car owner wants paintwork that looks glossy and fresh for as long as possible. While traditional wax can enhance shine and help protect paint, it's effectiveness typically fades within a few weeks depending on conditions. Paint sealants on the other hand, give more durable and long-lasting defence for your vehicle's exterior.
What Is a Car Paint Sealant?
A car paint sealant is a protective coating made from synthetic polymers that forms a durable layer over your car's clear coat. This protective barrier helps shield paint from environmental damage such as UV rays, dirt, bird droppings and acid rain. Unlike traditional waxes made from natural ingredients, sealants are engineered for longevity and performance.

Why Using a Paint Sealant Matters?
Here's how a sealant benefits your paint over time:
✔ Enhanced Paint Protection: Minimises oxidation, colour fade and chemical staining
A well applied paint sealant let's you enjoy a cleaner, smoother and more protected finish with fewer applications throughout the year.

How to Use a Car Paint Sealant?
Applying a car paint sealant properly helps to protect your vehicle's paint, enhances shine and extends durability. Follow these steps below for the best results:
- Wash Your Car Thoroughly: Clean your vehicle using a high quality shampoo such as Gyeon Q²M Bathe or Jennychem Shampoo Concentrate to remove dirt, grease and residue. This will help the sealant bond properly to the paintwork.
- Decontaminate the Paintwork: To create a smoother surface and improve protection and gloss, use a clay bar or iron remover such as Bilt Hamber Korrosol to eliminate embedded contaminants
- Dry the Vehicle: For most sealants, the car needs to be fully dry before application to ensure proper bonding and high performance however, if you're using for example Gyeon Q²M WetCoat, the surface needs to be wet to apply this product and then rinsed off using a pressure washer.
- Apply the Paint Sealant: If you're using a sealant such as Stjarnagloss Parla, simply spray directly onto the surface and buff with a clean microfibre towel until a consistent finish.
