Engine bay products are designed to clean, protect, and dress under-the-bonnet surfaces including plastics, rubbers, and painted areas. These products remove grease, dirt, and grime while leaving behind a fresh, factory-like finish that improves both appearance and protection.
Before you start:
Engine Cool Down:Ensure the engine is completely cool to prevent injury and ensure product effectiveness
Remove Debris: Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove loose leaves and twigs from the engine bay
Protect Areas: Cover the battery, alternator, air intake, and other sensitive electronic components with plastic bags or waterproof covers
Cleaning the engine bay:
Apply Degreaser:Spray a suitable engine degreaser or all-purpose cleaner onto the greasy and dirty surfaces
Agitate Grime: Use a detail brush to agitate any heavy grease build-up and work the degreaser into the surfaces
Rinse Carefully: Gently rinse the engine bay with a garden hose or low-pressure washer, being careful to avoid the covered sensitive components
Drying and dressing:
Remove Covers: Carefully remove the protective covers from the engine bay components
Dry Thoroughly: Dry the engine bay and its components using a microfibre drying towel or allow them to air dry completely
Apply Dressing: Mist a dedicated engine bay dressing onto the cleaned plastics, rubber, and metal parts
