Description

GT1 delivers the trusted performance of a Gtechniq ceramic coating in a fast, single-layer application. Engineered for first-time users and enthusiasts alike, GT1 can be applied outdoors with ease while offering a more straightforward application process than traditional waxes.

What does GT1 Ceramic Coating Actually Do? - The advanced ceramic formula chemically bonds to the surface, creating a durable layer of protection that helps resist swirl marks while delivering outstanding hydrophobic performance and tight water beading. Dirt releases more easily, helping keep surfaces cleaner for longer.

Designed as a true all-surface coating, GT1 can be applied to paintwork, PPF, trim, wheels and glass, allowing every exterior surface to be protected with a single product.

How Long Does GT1 Last? - GT1 is designed to provide 12 months or more of protection on paintwork, PPF, wheels, trim and unswept glass. In the swept area of a windscreen, durability is reduced to several months due to abrasion from the wipers.

How to use Gtechniq GT1 Ceramic Coating Kit

Before You Begin

  1. Park the vehicle out of direct sunlight.
  2. Ensure the temperature is above 5°C (40°F).
  3. Thoroughly wash and dry the vehicle before application.

Step 1 – Prepare the Surface

  1. Wear the supplied gloves.
  2. Spray Panel Wipe onto the included MF1 microfibre cloth.
  3. Wipe down each panel to remove any remaining oils or residue.

Step 2 – Apply the Coating

  1. Prime the AP5 applicator pad with the GT1 coating.
  2. Apply one panel at a time using overlapping crosshatch passes.
  3. Allow the coating to flash (typically 30–60 seconds).
  4. Buff away residue with a clean MF6 microfibre cloth, then finish with a second cloth for a streak-free gloss.
  5. Inspect each panel carefully to ensure all residue has been removed.

Step 3 – Continue Around the Vehicle

  1. Repeat the process panel by panel.
  2. Finish with the windows, trim and wheels.

Step 4 – Cure

  1. Allow the coating to cure for 7 days before washing the vehicle to achieve maximum durability.
